Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist, and even a commentator as a commentator for NBC News in Washington D.C. and is a television anchor. She earned an undergraduate degree in English literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing to be a part of New York City. In the year 1967, Mitchell started her job as a journalist for KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia. Mitchell was a reporter at the CBS affiliate WDVM-TV, (then WTOP) and was stationed which was based in Washington DC. The following year, she was general correspondent for NBC News in Washington. Beginning in 1981, she began reporting on the White House and became chief congressional correspondent in 1988. She was promoted to Chief White House correspondent in 1992 as well as chief foreign reporter of NBC News in 1994. Mitchell played both presenter and a panelist in the TV news program Meet the Press. She was on the panel during 1988's presidential debates that pitted George Bush against Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the spouse of Alan Greenspan who was the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in 2005, which was awarded by the John F. Kennedy School of Government. The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded Mitchell Leonard Zeidenberg the award in 2004 for her work in defending First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell first reported on for the White House for NBC News between 1981 and 1988, during both Ronald Reagan's presidency. Mitchell covered a variety of notable news stories like arms control, tax reforms to the budget and also the Iran Contra scandal. Mitchell also went on numerous summits in the company of the president Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev.
